Discovery Through a Scientific Lens

Barrett's Project Discovery & Project Interaction teachers, & ELL, Reading, & Classroom Teachers were awarded a $10,000 Toyota TAPESTRY Science grant. The 2006-07 grant supported student participation in lessons that incorporate the Jason Project, NASA Explorer School experiences, Virginia Science and culminated with the creation of video podcasts by fourth graders. Recently science podcasts created by 2nd grade students have been added to this blog.

Wow Gabby - I am so impressed by your work here. I think I need to take some pod-casting lessons from you because I honestly don't have the first idea how you made all of this come together. I hope you will let me share this with my colleagues at NSF to show them just what great work some students are doing connected with our projects. Thanks again for sharing it with me.

I loved the Antarctica movie and I am also impressed with what your students are doing! Great job! We are very happy that you all were able to follow Mr. Miller and Ms. Kaden to Antarctica and that their adventure will inspire all of you to be future explorers!
